Through songs, stories, sensory play, and simple routines, children gently ease into a classroom setting at their own pace. Rising Owls Preschool Prep Early Learning & Gentle Separation

Prep 24 months- 36 months

Welcome to Rising Owls—a joyful first classroom experience designed to spark curiosity, build independence, and help your little one fall in love with learning!

This theme-based class is all about discovering the wonder of words and building the foundation for early literacy. While we’re not actively teaching toddlers to read, we’re laying the groundwork through stories, songs, and playful routines that foster a love of books and language.

For many children, this is their very first drop-off class, so we take a gentle separation approach (caregivers may also choose to stay). Our goal is to support a smooth, positive transition. If separation feels challenging at first, caregivers are welcome to join us in the classroom and gradually ease out, ensuring little ones never feel overwhelmed or anxious. We prioritize reassurance, warmth, and connection every step of the way.

What makes Rising Owls special:

  • A welcoming, gentle drop-off experience that supports social-emotional growth
  • A “just right” structure that feels like preschool, but still leaves room for play
  • Focus on independence, language development, and early learning routines
  • Repetition is key—our weekly routines are thoughtfully designed to help toddlers feel safe, confident, and ready to participate

In this class, toddlers will:

  • Build social-emotional skills like sharing, turn-taking, and following routines
  • Explore books and stories that spark imagination and strengthen comprehension
  • Begin developing early alphabet knowledge through songs, name play, and exposure to letters
  • Strengthen fine motor skills through purposeful play like drawing, cutting, and pre-writing
  • Engage in movement and sensory activities that support the whole body and brain

Here’s what a class looks like:

Community Meeting

A welcoming circle where we sing, share, and build language and listening skills together.

Read-Aloud Time

Engaging stories based on our weekly theme encourage imagination and help grow comprehension.

Literacy & Music Play

Songs, fingerplays, and simple games connect sounds, letters, and words in fun, meaningful ways.

Sensory Exploration

Hands-on materials like playdough, water, and sand provide a rich space for creativity and fine motor growth.

Movement & Gross Motor Fun

Active play to support coordination, focus, and whole-body learning.

Class Vibe:

Structured yet playful, encouraging independence with the safety and support toddlers need to shine.
